Nintendo Censors Fire Emblem: Awakening Summer Scramble DLC

May 5, 2013

Depending on where you live, it’s going to be sad news for Fire Emblem fans. Nintendo has decided to censor the bikini bottoms of Tharja in the Summer Scramble DLC for Fire Emblem: Awakening.

North America will only see the censored image while those in Japan can see Tharja in all her bikini bottom glory.

This is a rather confusing action; not the censorship but how Nintendo decided to censor Tharja. The original version is not racy by American standards and Tharja is technically covered.

Shockingly, the censored version stimulates the imagination even more. While her bottom is covered, the way the curtain falls makes her look like she isn’t wearing bikini bottoms at all.

Even more puzzling is that the conversation between Nowi and Tharja was left intact,  where Nowi talks about Tharja’s “boingy bits.”
