Nintendo Denies “Android NX” Rumors

on June 2, 2015 5:04 PM

Yesterday Japanese newspaper Nikkei reported on rumors from an anonymous source stating that Nintendo’s NX gaming platform would be Android-based.

Today, however, the Kyoto-based company shot down said rumors in a new statement from a spokesperson:

There is no truth to the report saying that we are planning to adopt Android for NX.

Considering Nintendo’s track-record, this could possibly be a way to shut down rumor circulation until the company is ready to officially announce any Android OS usage. Until more information is revealed, however, we must take this statement as fact and consider the rumor untrue.
