Nintendo DS Reaches 50 Million Units Sold In The US, 3DS Still Lagging Behind

It’s definitely been the big dog of the past handheld generation, but it’s still kept going, it seems. Nintendo’s DS system (in all of its forms total) has sold over 50 million units in the US, a pretty big feat for the product.

The 3DS, however, only sold about another half-a-million units after the big price drop a few weeks ago. Will Nintendo have as much success with this generation of handhelds? It’s not looking likely at this point, but that’s just the way the industry is right now, I guess.
