Imagine losing your beloved Gameboy Color for it then to show up for sale at a Gaming Convention years later?

The Gameboy is or at least was, the epitome of handheld gaming. Releasing in Japan in 1998, it brought to life a colour screen rather than the usual monochrome within the Gameboy family. Coupled with some great games like Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX and Pokémon Gold and Silver, the Gameboy Color entertained around the globe until discontinuing in 2003.

With so many memories and games tied to this little colourful handheld device, it's of little wonder why people hang onto them for years, displaying them proudly on shelves. Unfortunately, one owner of the Gameboy Color misplaced theirs for it only to turn up by random at a gaming expo 20 years later.

Reddit user 2scott2handle recently posted of the strange and random happenings they encountered while at the TooManyGames three-day gaming convention at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania.

While apparently browsing the retro gaming area stalls, 2scott2handle came across a familiar friend. Upon reaching for a blue Gameboy Color, Scott immediately recognised that it was the exact same one they had many years previously and it even had their name still marked on it. Scott said that they purchased it straight away and stated, "I mean I was shook when I picked it up. I showed them my ID and everything. The lady said it was a higher power."

What's even stranger is that another commenter replied with a video clip of them recording the stall that the Gameboy Color was at and that they almost picked it up for themselves. I guess it just goes to show you that you never know what you might find at places like this that you thought you lost forever. Some things have a way of finding their way back to you.
