A new challenger approaches!

Enter: Reggie Fils-Aime.

With the announcement at this year's E3 that the latest entry in Nintendo's immensely popular fighting series Super Smash Bros would be heading to Wii U and 3DS tentatively in 2014, speculation as to which characters would be included only added to the anticipation of the game's release. With E3 came the announcements of The Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, and Mega Man, and now with a collection of Nintendo fans organizing a petition at Change.org, could the next challenger to approach be the big man at Nintendo of America himself?

Organized at Change.org, the petition calls for the famous Nintendo of America President and COO to be included as a playable character in the newest Super Smash Bros. iterations, with over 7,000 supporters having currently signed the plea. The site also calls for users to tweet at the game's director, Masahiro Sakurai, along with the Twitter accounts for Nintendo of America, Europe, and UK, to expand their voice and boost the signal for Reggie to be included as a playable character (#ReggieForSmashBros).

More information and the link to sign the petition is available here.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS was announced this past June during E3 in a broadcast Nintendo Direct, with a currently scheduled release for late 2014.

So, Smash Bros fans, how would you feel about getting beat down by The Regginator himself?

Most importantly...what would his Final Smash be?
