Nintendo Hires a Spokes-dog, Makes Our Collective Hearts Swoon

on March 2, 2012 8:44 AM

You read that right, the big N has gone to the dogs — for lack of a better term — to help promote their games. Uggie is a Jack Terrier who has a thing for the 3DS, and especially Nintendogs + Cats, well maybe not the cats part (for obvious reasons). This isn’t just any old pooch either, Uggie is an experienced actor — one who stole the show in”The Artist” which just won best picture at the Oscars. He has also┬áreceived┬áthe Palm Dog Award for “best performance by a canine” at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011.

Yes, that’s a real award and no, you can’t make this up. Nintendo is jumping on this pooch at an opportune moment, and going right for our hearts. Well played Nintendo, well played. Check out some more adorable shots of Uggie at his new gig below.
