Nintendo Live Gaming Expo Will be Happening in Japan this October
Nintendo has announced its own gaming expo that'll hit Kyoto, Japan later this October.
Later this October, Nintendo will be holding an event called Nintendo Live 2019, a Nintendo-dedicated gaming expo in Kyoto, Japan.
For those attending the event, Nintendo Live 2019 will feature playable demos, stage events, and game tournaments. Currently, it’s unclear as to what games will have playable demos. Among the game tournaments that’ll take place are Splatoon 2, Super Mario Maker 2, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. As for stage events, there will be a Splatoon music show and a Super Mario Maker 2 stage show. With this many events happening at the show, it’s making a trip to Japan in October a little tempting.
Previously, Nintendo held a Nintendo Live event in Japan last year that featured events such as an ARMS Grand Prix and a Mario Tennis Aces Japan Open. The event went from November 23 to the 24th.
Back in the day, Nintendo held a yearly event called SpaceWorld which ran from 1989-2001 where they would show off their latest hardware and games. Besides Nintendo Live, Nintendo will make an appearance at Gamescom this year to show off games such as Luigi’s Mansion 3, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and Astral Chain.
In other recent Nintendo news, Nintendo has announced that they’ve sold over 36 million Switch units since its launch in March 2017. Those sales numbers will only go up with the Nintendo Switch Lite launching on September 20. Additionally, Super Mario Maker 2 has sold over 2 million units and has over 4 million courses uploaded since its launch in June.
Nintendo Live 2019 will be held on October 13 and 14 in Kyoto, Japan at the Kyoto International Conference Center.
