If you are one of the many who purchased a physical copy of Bayonetta 2 on the Nintendo Switch earlier this week, you may have a defective code for the first title in the series.Every physical copy of Bayonetta 2 currently also comes with a download code for the first title in the series. According to Nintendo, the issue is occurring due to a small number of codes that were printed incorrectly. The company issued the statement below via Twitter, directing players to support.nintendo.com.

If you'd like to avoid having issues with physical copies of the game, you can purchase both titles on the Nintendo eShop for the same price as the physical version. Purchasing Bayonetta 2 on the eShop will allow you to get the first game at a discounted price of $10 USD. If your purchase the first game before the second though, Bayonetta 2 will be discounted down to $30 USD for you. So if you want to experience one of the games before dropping a full $60, this is a totally viable option.

Late last year, the third entry in the Bayonetta series was revealed at The Game Awards. Furthermore, the director of Bayonetta 3, Hideki Kamiya, recently took to Twitter to talk about why the third entry in the series will be a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 released earlier this week exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Speaking of Platinum exclusives on Nintendo platforms, back in July the company also teased what seems to be a potential Switch port of Wonderful 101 with an image of characters from the game using Joy-Con.
