In an increasing marketplace filled with the likes of subscription boxes like BirchBox, NatureBox, and the geeky equivalent Loot Crate, Nintendo’s wealth of iconic and nostalgic memorabilia and items seem like the perfect fit for a monthly box of goods for Nintendo fans everywhere, which may become a reality.
Reports from MCV UK detail that Nintendo plans on offering its own monthly subscription box in the style of the popular Loot Crate, where the company will offer memorabilia and collectibles to subscribers each month with all things Nintendo-related through its online store.
The subscription box, referred to in the report as the “N-Box,” would include a variety of toys, clothing, and other memorabilia items inspired by Nintendo’s most popular and iconic franchises, such as Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, and others.
The Nintendo service is expected to provide the subscription boxes in either individual installments or through subscription plans, typically allowing users to subscribe for either three, six, or 12-months.
Nintendo previously collaborated with Loot Crate last year in the lead-up to the launch of its wildly-popular amiibo figurines, allowing subscribers to purchase amiibo through the release of Loot Crate boxes, and also plans to collaborate with the subscription box service Zavvi for a special Nintendo-themed box coming in September.
Nintendo has not officially confirmed these details at this time, but stay tuned for more updates and official confirmation as news develops.
