Nico Nico Tokaigi has become a staple event in the gaming year in Japan, and 2015 will see a new formula, starting from the change of name, which will lose the “Nico Nico” and will be Tokaigi Game Party 2015.

This year the event, which will feature tournaments, gameplay showcases, stage events, retrogaming and much more, will be held on January 31st and February 1st at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Near Tokyo (the same venue of the Tokyo Game Show).

The sponsor panel, announced during a livestream today, is definitely rich, and will include Nintendo as a “special sponsor” to which PlayStation, Namco Bandai, Square Enix, Sega, Gung Ho Online Entertainment, Mixi, Line and Koropura will add their own sponsorships.

A large part of the event will be livestreamed, so we’ll be able to check it out ourselves. There could even be some interesting announcement and gameplay premiere coming our way.
