Nintendo Reports Its First Ever Annual Loss

I’m willing to bet there are a lot of businesses out there in these hard economic times that wish they had a profit record of a company like Nintendo. Very few companies can say that they’ve never had an annual loss, but earnings reports from the last fiscal year which ended in March snatched that distinction away from Nintendo.

It turns out almost $8 billion in sales wasn’t enough to keep the company from losses of $458 Million. While it’s almost certain that at least part of those losses come from the low sales of the ill-fated 3DS, Nintendo isn’t the only one feeling the wrath of the world’s economic woes. I’m sure Nintendo is hoping the coming of the Wii U will put them back in the black.
