Today, Nintendo revealed that they'd finally be giving two of Splatoon 2's most popular characters, Pearl and Marina, the amiibo treatment.

Back in April of 2016, Nintendo revealed the original Squid Sisters from the first Splatoon would be getting an amiibo double pack, so it seemed only natural that Pearl and Marina would follow suit when the second title released last summerThe upcoming amiibo pack was revealed with a new trailer on Nintendo's YouTube channel, showing off every detail on each of the figures.

How exactly the figures will affect gameplay in Splatoon 2 has yet to be revealed, it's likely we'll find out closer to their release. The two amiibo will launch exclusively as a dual pack sometime later this year, they'll cost you $24.99 USD. You can check out the new trailer down below. Yesterday, Splatoon 2's next North American Splatfest event was announced, and it will pit love against money. Furthermore, Splatoon 2 is also receiving some new content in the form of a brand new basketball court map as well as a new dualies weapon. As always, all of this new content will be available free of charge for all those who own the game.
