Hardware company 8bitdo debuts classic Nintendo controllers for use with Nintendo Switch.

May 24, 2017

Retro gaming fans should be happy today as hardware company 8bitdo has introduced a line of retro controllers compatible with the Nintendo Switch.

No matter how revolutionary technology gets, people will always have a place in their hearts for the classic lineup of games and peripherals. These new controllers mimic the classic NES, SNES and Nintendo 64 controllers with a couple of modifications. As you can tell, the NES model controller has four buttons rather than the original two. All of the controllers have some limitations, as the company has noted that amiibo scanning and HD rumble is not supported.

Each of the controllers are available to purchase now on Amazon, and range in price from $35-50 depending on your choice. The price tag may be a bit higher than some extra Joy-cons, but the price of nostalgia is usually a bit higher than normal. The retro gaming side of things is making a comeback after the mini-NES classic, and will be even larger if the reported mini-SNES console comes out. It doesn’t look like the desire will flame out any time soon because after all, you always remember your first, right?

Take a look at all of the options below.
