While the glory days of Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Rocksmith are long behind us, musical video game peripherals and software continue to live on.

Just a few weeks ago, on April 26th, Korg released KORG Gadget for the Nintendo Switch which enabled gamers to experiment with a variety of different synthesizers and drum machines. Similarly, through the release of Nintendo Labo Variety Kit on April 20th, Nintendo introduced gamers and builders alike to the customizable Toy-Con Piano. Both of these releases playfully challenged the creativity of their respective audiences, urging them to use the provided tools in fun and exciting ways.

It didn’t take long for A-list celebrities to get in on the fun either. Ariana Grande and The Roots will be performing a rendition of her song No Tears Left to Cry using only Nintendo Switch-based instruments on tonight’s episode of The Tonight Show. While this will certainly bolster general awareness of Labo, hopefully, it will also inspire other musicians to experiment with Labo’s capabilities.

You can catch a preview of the song here or watch the entire broadcast of The Tonight Show tonight on NBC at 11:35 PM Eastern. Of course, Nintendo Labo is available for the Nintendo Switch, and you can grab the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit from Amazon.
