Nintendo Switch Lite Gets an Official Flip Cover Case

Keep your brand new Nintendo Switch Lite safe and sound with an official Nintendo Flip Cover Case.

The Nintendo Switch Lite was officially announced on July 10 this year which was amazing news to Switch lovers around the world. This sleek version of the Switch comes in at a cheaper price of $200 which does reflect its notable lack of features that include non-detachable joy-cons and the inability to connect to the TV. But even with this, the Switch Lite has become a must-have on Nintendo fans wish list.

With any new piece of kit, you need to keep it protected and safe from scratches, knocks, and maybe your little brother or sisters wandering hands. Thankfully, Nintendo knows these facts all too well and have brought out an official Switch Lite flip cover case that will keep your new baby snug and secure. It’s currently only listed on Nintendo Japan’s online store for about $35 with a launch date due for November which will no doubt release worldwide eventually.

How the flip cover case works is rather simple and easy: it simply snaps onto the console’s back and the cover can flip back to give access to the console. The case highlights some raised circles for the console’s joysticks while closed. The clamshell hard case has indentations for both control sticks, flipping back behind the console when you’re ready to play. Conveniently, there’s also charging port access on the case which will let you power it up without even removing the case.

If you want to pre-order it now for an import when it releases in November, you can do so by visiting the Japanese Nintendo Store or you can always hold out for a little while as I’m sure it will be making its way to the west pretty soon.

The Nintendo Switch Lite launches on September 20 for $199.99.
