Nintendo Switch Sports Online Play Test Times & How To Register

Nintendo Switch Sports arrives on April 29th, but you can play before if you're lucky!

Everyone’s favourite Wii Sports series is returning with a whole new iteration in Nintendo Switch Sports. Although not set to arrive in April this year, fans can gain early access via an upcoming play test later this week.

If you’re eager to jump back into some classic family fun games such as Bowling, Tennis, Chamabra, and more, here’s how you can register for the upcoming play test and all of the times and dates it’s available.

How To Register For Nintendo Switch Sports Play Test

To register for the upcoming Nintendo Switch Sports play test simply follow the steps below:

  • Head to the Nintendo Swtich Sports website.
  • Scroll down to the ‘Register’ section where a large blue ‘Register Now’ button can be found.
  • Click ‘Register Now’ and you will be navigated to a separate Nintendo page.
  • From here you will be required to log in to your Nintendo account.
  • Select the “Redeem” button. You’ll receive a 16-digit download code for the Nintendo Switch Sports Online Play Test.
  • To download the Nintendo Switch Sports Online Play Test on your Nintendo Switch system, visit and enter the code, or input the code on Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo Switch system.

Please note that not everyone who registers for a play test code will be guaranteed entry. Only certain regions are eligible for participation. A full list of times and date for the play test can be found further down this article.

Nintendo Switch Sports Play Test Times and Dates

According to the Nintendo website, the Switch Sports play test will be available at the following times and dates:

Friday, February 18th

  • 7AM – 7:45PM (PT)

Saturday, February 19th

  • 3AM – 3:45AM (PT)
  • 11AM – 11:45AM (PT)
  • 7AM – 7:45AM (PT)

Sunday, February 20th

  • 3AM – 3:45AM (PT)

Nintendo also states that players will be able to play Bowling, Tennis, and Chambara during the play test, but will not be able to buddy up with their friends.
