With both the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 releasing in the month of November, it was going to be interesting if the Nintendo Switch could keep its best selling console for the month (in the U.S.) streak going. Look's like we now have confirmation that the streak is still alive.

According to the NPD Group (Via Business Wire), the Nintendo Switch and the Switch Lite combined for 1.3 million sales in the month of November. This will be the 24th month in a row that the console has been the best selling system in the U.S.

The Switch has sold 6.92 million consoles this year in the U.S. This has surpassed last year's total by 426,000 in just over 11 months.

At first, I was a little skeptical if the Switch would be able to keep the streak alive since the next-gen competitors were coming out in November. However, the lack of easily accessible stock and scalpers swooping in to take the stock that is available has made it incredibly difficult to get your hands on an Xbox Series X|S or PS5. I am sure they will be more readily available in the future. I just don't know how soon that future will come. Once stock can meet up with demand, the Switch streak will most likely be in jeopardy.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Black Friday Bundle might have propelled some of the sales during the holidays. This is the same exact bundle that Nintendo has released every Black Friday, except this time around they included a three-month subscription to Nintendo Online. The Switch model was also the updated SKU with better battery life.
