Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka Reflect on Creating Mario for Super Mario Bros.’ 30th Anniversary

This week holds a special occasion for fans of Nintendo as a new milestone was reached in the 30th anniversary of arguably gaming’s most iconic face, Mario, with Nintendo honoring the legacy of Super Mario Bros. in a new interview video that’s certainly touching and enlightening.

In celebration of Super Mario Bros.‘ 30th Anniversary this week, Nintendo released a new interview video featuring Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka speaking on the creation of Mario and the series that would become the company’s flagship franchise.

It’s an intriguing look-back on one of gaming’s seminal creations, and especially interesting with its use of footage of young Miyamoto and Tezuka working on the game prior to its release – for the full look during Mario’s 30th anniversary, you can check out the video from Nintendo below:
