Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja published new information about Nioh 2 ahead of Tokyo Game Show 2019. We've got some new screenshots and a brand new key visual, showing the game's protagonist and his demon form.

Team Ninja described Nioh 2's protagonist as a samurai half-breed who can turn into a demonic being using his Yokai powers. While surviving in the Sengoku era, the protagonist will also be dragged into the Dark Realm where the Yokai resides. This aspect gives Nioh 2 a brand new atmosphere compared to the first episode.

Team Ninja also announced Nioh 2 will make a playable appearance at TGS 2019, from September 12 to 15. This will be the first time the game will be playable since the end of its closed alpha event, meaning we'll get to see how it has evolved since then. Especially, we'll be able to gauge how our feedback affected the game's development to a certain extent.

Team Ninja also announced more than 50,000 participated in the Nioh 2 Closed Alpha. Meanwhile, around 18,000 answered the feedback survey.

Attendees of TGS 2019 who play the demo will also get a badge and a strap (not pictured). The screenshots are included in the gallery below.

Nioh 2 was announced back in June 2018, exclusively for PS4. No release date estimate has been published by Koei Tecmo, but we might get one at Tokyo Game Show. At the very least, we'll see new gameplay there.
