With the PS5 now well and truly out in the wild, Sony and Team Ninja have confirmed that both Nioh and Nioh 2 will be making their way to the platform in a variety of ways.

There will be three different options for players to choose from, all of which launch on February 5, next year. The titles are releasing on this date to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the original game. Players will be able to grab either Nioh Remastered - Complete Edition, Nioh 2 Remastered - Complete Edition or The Nioh Collection for their PS5's.

Nioh Remastered - Complete Edition will contain the original game alongside all of the DLC that released for it and Nioh 2 Remastered - Complete Edition will contain, as you'd expect, Nioh 2, plus all the DLC. For those looking to enter the world of Nioh for the first time, The Nioh Collection will contain all of the aforementioned content in one handy package.

Team Ninja confirms that the remasters will come with a whole load of technical advancements as follows:

"All of the titles available on PlayStation 5 will support 4K resolution for crystal clear visuals, up to 120 FPS gameplay for silky smooth combat, ultra-fast load times and the ability to transfer your data from the PS4 versions to pick up your journey right where you left off."

The blog post confirms that players who own the PS4 version of Nioh 2 can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version at no extra cost, alongside any DLC they may have purchased. It goes on to specify that the remastered version of the game can't be purchased separately however and can only be bought as part of the Complete Edition. Alongside the PS5 versions of the game, there will also be a Nioh 2 Complete Edition launching on the PS4.

Before all of that launches, however, Team Ninja has confirmed the release date for the final piece of DLC, The First Samurai. The DLC which contains "some of the most challenging missions and formidable foes" will be launching on December 17.
