Nippon Ichi Software, through its usual annual summer greeting cards, is teasing a brand new game following Disgaea 6.

New NIS game teased - What you should know

Every summer, usually in the last week of July or in early August, Nippon Ichi Software sends to its fans a special summer greeting card. The card usually features an exclusive illustration by Takehito Harada, who handles the character design of the Disgaea series and multiple other games at Nippon Ichi Software.

As reported by Famitsu, this year's summer greeting card features a JRPG-like party of characters eating at a campfire. Contacted by Famitsu, Nippon Ichi Software only answered: "it's a secret" when pressed for answers. Judging from Nippon Ichi Software's current release patterns, it's highly likely to be a new JRPG title coming to PS4 and Switch.

Note that these summer greeting cards are how Disgaea 6 was initially teased before its official announcement. Personally speaking, I have yet to finish Disgaea 6 yet, but many fans agree on the fact that while the game introduces quality of life improvements, the story and gameplay were lacking. And the switch from 2D to 3D character models made it lose some charm.

Nippon Ichi Software is also launching Shin Hayarigami 3 on PS4 and Switch on July 29, 2021, in Japan. The horror detective ADV with a cool female protagonist and incredible character designs by Hakus was never officially localized in English, except for a single arc from the first game.

Nippon Ichi Software will also launch yuri game Kochira, Haha Naru Hoshi Yori on PS4 and Switch on October 28, 2021, in Japan. It's a spiritual sequel to Jinrui no Minasama e. These games were not announced outside Japan.
