In an interview with 4Gamer, Sohei Niikawa, President, CEO and Producer at Nippon Ichi Software spoke about the company's ambitions for 2017. In addition to new IPs releasing, he stated the company will actively develop projects for the Nintendo Switch.

While Nippon Ichi Software was on the list of third party companies supporting the Switch the was released shortly after the system's reveal, Niikawa claims that many were still skeptic about the company's involvement with the new Nintendo console.

“Nippon Ichi Software will continue to deliver a variety of content from Gifu Prefecture. Also, in 2017 we'll continue to actively launch new IP in the console market. However, that's not all. We'll challenge more and new projects. We're also planning for Nintendo Switch, so stay tuned! There seem to be people skeptical about our participation, but we're properly in development."

In that same interview, Soheii Niikawa also said his favorite game of 2016 was Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, which DualShockers gave an 8.5.We will be sure to update you once their Nintendo Switch project is finally revealed, possibly at the Switch's January 13 event.
