Refract Studios, made up of former DigiPen students and developers of the critically-acclaimed futuristic racer, Nitronic Rush, have created a new website, one that will unite their new projects, such as Distance, into a single place. Here, the team hopes to continue releasing Distance Changelogs, chronicling the fixes they’ve been making to the game with each update.
Speaking of updates, Distance has received a slew of new updates, including a new event system that will make coding more stable, performance improvements, visual improvements, and music, some of which you can sample on SoundCloud. The team have also designed new assets, such as buildings (which can be viewed below), “glass” roads, and a drone obstacle that players have to avoid while driving on courses.
Learn more about the game on the Survive the Distance website, where you can also purchase the Distance beta. Distance was successfully Kickstarted with $161,981 of its $125,000 goal last year. For more on the game, check out some Distance screenshots and a gameplay video.
