No Man’s Sky Goes Gold – It’s Finally Happening

No Man’s Sky will be released on PS4 and PC on August 9th, but today marks another milestone. As shared on Twitter by Creative Director Sean Murray, the game has finally gone gold.

For those unfamiliar with the terminology, it means that it’s finished. Done. It’s a warp.

After four years of hard work the good folks at Hello Games can finally look at the result of their hard work in its complete form.

Perhaps it’s appropriate that this is happening on the day of Tanabata, the Star Festival. Today we make wishes upon stars, but in just a month we’ll explore them.
