Despite the game's initial technical problems, No Man's Sky has peaked Steam's charts for concurrent players on it's first day. Upon the game's PC release, it enjoyed 212,620 players logging in to see what the game holds in store. Even if the majority of those concurrent players were disappointed, this marks No Man's Sky as having the most successful Steam launch of 2016 so far.

According to Steam's statistics, the game manages to outsell big hitters such as XCOM 2, Dark Souls 3 and Stardew Valley, all of which launched at a much lower concurrent player base than No Man's Sky. This initial player pool, however, could be chalked down to the controversy surrounding the game in the months to it's release. The game is currently peaking at around 141,000 players daily after only two days, putting it between the likes of well-reputed titles such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Team Fortress 2.

No Man's Sky is available on PS4 and PC.
