Challenge maps have been a huge part of the Batman: Arkham franchise ever since their initial inception in 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum – there was also downloadable content that allowed gamers to play as the Joker. 2011’s Arkham City expanded on this concept by introducing DLC in the form of Tim Drake’s Robin and Dick Grayson’s Nightwing. What does this mean for Dick Grayson in Arkham Origins?
Naturally, fans have been curious if the reveal of Dick Grayson’s role as Robin in Arkham Origins’ multi-player component would extend to this particular game’s challenge maps. Sadly, this may not be the case as Arkham Origins’ Creative Director, Eric Holmes, explained to a fan via Twitter, “sorry, no plans for that as far as I know.” He did add, however, that fans will be able to play as Deathstroke should they pre-order from any major retailer.
Batman: Arkham Origins is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal and will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 25th, 2013. A Vita version of the game, Batman: Arkham Origins – Blackgate, is also in development by Armature Studio and will be released on the same day.
