No Vita Price Cut For Now, Sony Says

on March 7, 2013 5:18 PM

With the a huge spike in sales for the Vita in Japan thanks to a recent price cut, the Vita has nearly sold six times over all sales prior to the price cut. So has Sony decided to duplicate that business move in the West.

Not yet.

According to IGN, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida attributed the price cut in Japan as a way of making the Vita more fairly priced in Japan, since it was comparatively more expensive in Japan than in the West. So, in other words, the price of the Vita in Japan is now about the same as in the U.S.

There are a few rumors as to why Sony has been resistant over announcing a price drop in the West: some think Sony will make an announcement at E3, some think it will be bundled with the PS4. What do you think? And would you rather buy a discounted Vita by itself or get a bundled PS4 and Vita package that may discount both?
