Normand Corbeil, Composer of Heavy Rain’s Score, Passes Away

Normand Corbeil, the man behind Heavy Rain‘s score, has  tragically died at the young age of 56. Mr. Corbeil was also working on the score for Quantic Dream’s upcoming game, Beyond: Two Souls. It is unclear as of now how far along he was in the process and/or if anyone will need to take over to complete any remaining work.

The composer was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer (one of the deadliest) and died after just a six month battle. “Normand was a great composer and an amazing father,” his son, Laurent, told Polygon, “we urge anyone who’s been touched by his music to donate to pancreatic cancer research. The survival rate for this horrible disease is still far too low.”

Aside from Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, Corbeil also scored the highly underrated, Indigo Prophecy (or Fahrenheit, depending on where you live), in addition to numerous television shows, televisions films, and motion pictures. He will be missed.
