Not Too Clever: Telltale's Jurassic Park Delayed

By Allen Park

April 28, 2011

The first episode of Telltale’s highly anticipated game set in the Jurassic Park universe was set to launch sometime this month, but word comes from PC Gamer that that unfortunately is not going to be the case. According to them, folks who pre-ordered the game on Telltale’s site received an e-mail from CEO Dan Connors, stating that Jurassic Park: The Game is being delayed to a later unspecified date.

The reasons Connors provides for this sudden delay seem to be that the game is “moving in new directions” and “expanding our game mechanics”. I don’t know; Jurassic Park looked pretty good when I saw a bit of it at GDC, but that bit about a new direction really has me concerned for the wellbeing of this one.

On the bright side, it looks like everyone who pre-ordered gets a full refund, along with a Telltale game of their choice, so at least Telltale continues to be a class act through this.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
