Notch Challenges Bethesda to Trial by Combat

By John Colaw

August 17, 2011

Lawsuits are the things of small, weak men. Notch has come up with a better alternative to this petty fight of words to settle the lawsuit Bethesda filed regarding the trademark of his new game Scrolls: a trial by combat. Quake 3 to be specific. The rules are simple: each team picks their three warriors and one map, most frags across both matches wins.

If Mojang wins, the suit gets dropped. If Bethesda wins, Notch changes the name of Scrolls to something they’re satisfied with. Your move Bethesda…trial by combat or pedantry in suits?
