Masahiro Sakurai revealed a new feature coming to Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 3DS that is sweet music to our ears. For anyone who simply loves playing the game’s soundtrack would be happy to know there will be a built-in music player that will work during sleep mode. The Play in Sleep Mode, has the ability to allow songs to continue to play even when the 3DS is closed, so now the songs can be listened at any time.

Sakurai also outlined the functions of the ‘L’ and ‘R’ shoulder buttons, which can be used to skip between tracks or have songs in a loop or shuffle.

In Smash Run, the background music plays randomly from the songs the player selects from the track list. Meaning a player can customize their own playlist. While each stage has two tracks, as a bonus, more songs for you to enjoy in Smash Run and in the Sounds area.

Lastly, a selection of the music tracks are now available on the Smash Bros. website. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS will release on October 3rd. The Wii U version is expected to release during the holidays.
