NRG eSports Dominate at Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in Shanghai

NRG eSports prove to be a dominant force at Counter-Strike: Global Offensive during Intel extreme Masters XIII tournament in Shanghai.

The past weekend saw four Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams going head to head at the Intel Extreme Masters XIII in Shanghai. Having originally started off with eight outfits competing, the group stages earlier which took place in the week cut the number of teams in half, leaving only four to participate in the playoffs. NRG eSports and Vurtis.pro advanced from Group A to meet TyLoo and Gambit eSports from Group B.

Having already dispatched 5Power Gaming and HellRaisers in the group stages, NRG eSports went on to face off against Gambit eSports in the semi-finals. This match-up saw NRG eSports securing an easy 2-0 victory over their opponents; beating them with a score of  16-8 on Train and 16-3 on Overpass.

The final match of the tournament took place between NRG and TyLoo who had previously beaten Virtus.pro 2-1 in the semi-finals. The battle opened up on the Overpass map once again where NRG claimed a 16-9 win before going on to breeze through the final round of the set with a score of 16-2 on Mirage. After a long week and a dominating performance, the NRG eSports team was proud to hold up the trophy as Intel Extreme Masters XIII- Shanghai’s champions.
