OC6 Solaris: Offworld Combat is the Next VR Shooter From The Devs Behind Firewall: Zero Hour
OC6 Solaris: Offworld Combat will be releasing sometime next year for Oculus Quest and Rift but PSVR will be a later date.
OC6 Solaris: Offworld Combat was first revealed during Upload Vr’s E3 show, but since then, not much about the game has been shown. Until now. Upload VR has followed up with some fresh new details on the follow up from the development studio behind Firewall: Zero Hour.
Per Upload VR, the game will be yet another multiplayer-only title and will feature 4v4 fast-paced matches that will remind some of classic Quake matches. The game will be hitting Quest and Rift simultaneously in 2020, with crossplay. It will also be coming to PSVR sometime next year as well, however, this version will not have crossplay due to it having separate servers.
At launch, there will only be one game mode named Control Point which will remind many of King of the Hill. Players will need to gain points by controlling certain points on the map.
Upload VR stated the First Contact Entertainment wanted this game to be easy for new players to pick up and play while also having a deep system for players to study and improve upon such as understanding mechanics of different weapons, learning the intricacies of maps, and spawn locations.
Finally, First Contact stated that this game will have an entirely separate development team from Firewall’s development since that game is still introducing some new content and updates even after being on the market for about a year.
I am excited about OC6 Solaris: Offworld Combat. Firewall was an awesome experience, but there were some glaring issues with the matchmaking system that has kept me and plenty of others from going back to it. Hopefully, this new game rectifies many of those problems.
