Octodad Stumbles on Xbox One/Wii U This Summer, Vita Version Still Coming, No Discount For PC Owners
Octodad: Dadliest Catch is to be released on the Xbox One and Wii U later this year after a successful run on the PS4 and PC platforms, the game’s developer has announced.
The crazy physics fun-run will be causing mayhem on Xbox One and Nintendo’s Wii U this summer as Octodad attempts to keep up appearances in his bonkers adventure while trying to convince everyone he’s a human being.
The slapstick comedy of a game is definitely worth a try if you’ve got the funds available come release. Puzzles will keep you busy whilst the general hilarity of Octodad’s physical mishaps as he tried to pretend to be a land walking pizza muncher (read: human) will have you in fits of laughter each time.
That’s not all though. PS Vita owners will be glad to hear that they’re not being left out in the cold and that Octodad: Dadliest Catch is still being developed for the nifty handheld, something reassuring after not hearing much about it for quite a while.
Of course you could just remote play it from your PS4, but there will be probably be a few Vita specific features that make it worth a separate purchase.
Finally, if you’re hoping for a discount on your Octodad: Dadliest Catch purchase with Xbox One, Wii U (and presumably Vita) because you’ve previously supported the game on PC, no luck I’m afraid.
When asked on Twitter if there will be any discount for those who own the game on PC the developers answered “it’s unlikely.”
As it’s not happened with other cross-platform releases in the past, it wasn’t really expected. Still, no harm in asking.
