During today's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo and Square Enix announced the release date of the upcoming JRPG Octopath Traveler.

The game is coming on July 13th, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

On top of this, we learn about two new characters. Tressa the merchant can purchase things from townsfolk and other NPCs. On the other hand, Alfyn the apothecary comes with the "Inquire" special action.

We also learn that every character starts with its own job, but they can acquire a second to use in battle.

The game will also get a special edition with a soundtrack CD, a special box, a map, and a book introducing the eight playable characters.
