According to one of Twitter's most prolific tech leakers WalkingCat, there might be an updated Oculus Quest headset on the horizon. Rumors have been swirling for a while now, with codenames and potential controllers leaking through various sources. And really, given the headsets popularity, it's not a surprising move if it does happen. Plus, if the leaked images are to be believed, fans of white consoles are in for a treat. Check it out.

Of course, take everything in this post with a hefty grain of salt. Until Oculus and Facebook officially announce this new Oculus Quest, this is all speculation. That said, we can spot a few potential differences in the new model.

The first thing that jumps out is the new strap. The current model uses a fully plastic strap, while the top strap of the white model appears to use a different material.

You also might notice that the side straps don't appear to be adjustable. This puts it more in line with a headset like the PSVR that simply uses a single rear adjustment that makes getting your headset fit simpler.

Also, thanks to the team at UploadVR, who spotted the lack of an IPD slider on the new model. Of course, it could just be located somewhere else on the headset. However, many of Oculus' other headsets don't include an IPD slider, so it wouldn't be too shocking to see it axed from the new model.

If you haven't picked up an Oculus Quest yet, it might be worth waiting to see if this new model is legitimate. Regardless, the headset is one of the best on the market. Sure, it lacks the pure power of the Valve Index or other top-end headsets. However, the headset's portability is a real game-changer for more casual users.
