PlayStation Vita isn’t slowing down anytime soon. In a recent announcement via PlayStation Blog, publisher Oddworld Inhabitants announced that Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty! (the HD remaster of the original Oddworld: Abe’s Odyssee) is making its way to PlayStation Vita tomorrow. While the game sports Cross Buy integration if you own the game on PlayStation 4, don’t expect to see Cross Save functions.
The Vita version of New ‘n’ Tasty is adding some tweaks to the PlayStation 4 version to make everything a bit more user friendly to small screens. Specifically, the Vita version no longer has analog dead zones and has remapped shoulder buttons to account for the Vita’s lack of a second shoulder input. Meanwhile, Gamespeak has been mapped to the triangle/directional buttons. Like the other versions of the HD remake, QuikSave and QuikLoad are both available by pressing the Select button.
New additions to the Vita version include “speedrunning on the go” as well as some new revisions to throw veterans off. The visuals of the game have been redefined, being slightly bigger and more colorful to account for the smaller screen. Lastly, the Vita version has a new set of trophies (including a platinum) for trophy hunters.
While the blog post doesn’t explicitly mention a cross save or cross buy function, this week’s The Drop explicitly states there will be Cross Buy for those who already own it. Cross Save is still an unknown entity. Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty! is immediately available on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. As mentioned above, the vita iteration is available tomorrow.
