Players will also be able to pre-order the game on PC.

During The Game Awards 2020, Oddworld Inhabitants showed off a brand-new trailer the Oddworld: Soulstorm with a mixture of gameplay and cinematics. The trailer also comes with a release window and the studio has confirmed that the game is to be available for pre-order on the Epic Games Store for PC.

Players will take control of Abe, escaping from RuptureFarms after learning of sinister plans to turn the Mudokons into food. Players will be able to play the game either aggressively or passively as they try to save as many of the Mudokons as they can throughout the world, and all from a 2.9D perspective.

Throughout the game, your actions will have an influence on Abe, his abilities, his followers, and the score through the story thanks to a Quarma system. Players can pickpocket, scavenge, and craft weapons and tools. The followers you save can be determined by how you use them, such as gifting weapons to some for a more violent approach.

Oddworld: Soulstorm is said to be roughly 15 hours with numerous achievements to unlock to keep players wanting to go back. There’s also the addition of an online leaderboards and ways to keep players striving to unlock badges and enjoy their time in its dark world.

These features were highlighted back in September during the PS5 showcase, the game itself was confirmed for the PS5 earlier this year with a cinematic trailer and was first revealed in 2016. The creator of Oddworld, Lorne Lanning shared more information about the game in an interview back in June. While Oddworld: Soulstorm hasn’t been confirmed for the Switch, the previous games in the franchise have been ported over to the Nintendo Switch with modern enhancements.

Oddworld: Soulstorm has been confirmed to be launching sometime during Spring 2021 and will be available on PS4, PS5, and on PC through the Epic Games Store.
