Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir Looks Absolutely Fantastic on PS4: 233 1080p Screenshots of the Demo

Vanillaware games always look gorgeous no matter the platform, thanks to the developer’s masterful use of 2D sprites and to the lovely art style led by President George Kamitani, but the debut on PS4 makes Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir look even better thanks to the super-crisp 1080 resolution.

To give you an idea of what I mean, I spent a couple of hours with the Japanese demo that just hit the local PlayStation Store, and took my usual enormous quantity of screenshots for your perusal.

They really don’t need much of an introduction, and you can check them out below. One thing is for sure. If a game from the PS2 era can look this good, I’d give an arm to see Dragon’s Crown getting the same treatment.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
