Mohawk Games and Stardock Entertainment announced today that the Blue Chip Ventures DLC for Offworld Trading Company is now available, and released a new new trailer for it.
According to the developers, Blue Chip Ventures adds some of the most difficult challenges to Offworld Trading Company. The scenarios of the DLC were actually designed by an avid Offworld Trading Company competitor called Blues, and will focus on the following key strategies:
- Supply & Demand: Focus on monopolizing resources and learn the right times to shift focus to keep ahead of the competition
- Play Well with Others: Learn both how to handle opponents and also how to work together with others as a team.
- Long-term Planning: Deal with debt strategies and turn around a losing game through careful planning.
Soren Johnson, Lead Designer of Offworld Trading Company, had the following to say about the Blue Chip Ventures:
"Predicting markets, sabotaging your opponents, and breaking monopolies is only the start. There are also complex 'challenges' in the DLC that require you to take what you already know and build on what you've learned from the other scenarios in order to beat them. Blues is a top-tier player. He used inspiration from the Daily Challenges to craft these interesting and strategic scenarios. Blue Chip Ventures is going to make even the most veteran players work hard for their victories. "
