AOne Games announced today, to coincide with PSX 2017, they will be offering a free demo of their supernatural fighting game Omen of Sorrow on PS4 this weekend. Of course, a new trailer showcasing more gameplay was also released, confirming that the title will be releasing in 2018.

The aforementioned Omen of Sorrow Demo will go live tonight, December 8, at 10pm PST, and will run until December 11. The demo will let players take control of two of the game's characters: Zafkiel and Gabriel. It will also let players fight on one brand new stage, and try out both the single-player and multiplayer modes.

Felipe Budinich, AOne Games Marketing Director, had the following to say about the content included in Omen of Sorrow:

"Omen of Sorrow delivers a deep 2D combat system inspired by the classics, bringing back the edge, mindset and philosophy rooted in the genre's arcade legacy, taking it to the next level with innovative features and fighting mechanics."

Meanwhile, Max Kubler, AOne Games Executive Producer, commented on releasing a playable build of Omen of Sorrow outside of an event for the first time:

"This is the first time the game will be released onto the wild, outside of the controlled environment of an event. It’s a daunting proposal, but we strongly believe that once players get their hands on the game, they’ll be able to appreciate the effort we’ve put into all the subtle details that can’t be conveyed through gameplay videos such as input handling, and the overall flow of combat."

If you want to see more of the game, you can check out some previous gameplay videos that showcase some fights and the super moves of Gabriel, Zafkiel, and Caleb.
