PlayStation VR Exclusive One Piece Grand Cruise Gets New 1080p Screenshots Showing Characters

Bandai Namco released more screenshots of its virtual reality game One Piece Grand Cruise for PlayStation VR, that will release in Japan in 2018.

Today Bandai Namco Entertainment released a new batch of 1080p screenshots of its upcoming virtual reality anime game One Piece Grand Cruise.

The game will include character interaction and battle features.

In the character interaction sections, players will be able to do what it says on the tin, interacting with their favorite characters in various locations, for instance talking to Chopper in the infirmary, or finding Zoro and Franky training on the deck. Conversations will be different depending on the answers given by the player, and on the gender selected for their character.

The battle part is a “shooting battle” where the player encounters an enemy ship, having to use cannons to shoot down enemy cannonballs and deal damage. A battle against a kraken will also be included, needing to hits its tentacles.

Today we also learn that the game will come in 2018, even if nothing more was said, and no precise release date was provided. It will be exclusive to Sony Interactive Entertainment’s PlayStation VR.

At the moment, we also don’t know whether it’ll come to the west. Bandai Namco has normally been good in localizing even its most obscure Japanese games, but Summer Lesson is not a positive precedent for virtual reality.
