A new rumour has begun circulating online, suggesting that the release date for the recently announced One Piece live-action TV series will be August 31st. The news comes from a One Piece fan account that claims to have a "reliable source."Although the account claims to have information from a reliable source, we recommend taking the aforementioned date with a pinch of salt for the time being. The date is subject to change until Netflix makes an official announcement. RELATED: Live Action One Piece TV Series To Set Sail On Netflix In 2023Earlier this week, news regarding the TV series' 2023 release was confirmed with an official poster that featured Iñaki Godoy playing the iconic role of Monkey D. Luffy, the main character of the series. No official release date for the premiere was set, but with the next anime event to take place being Anime Japan 2023, set for March 25 and 26, it's possible that further details will be shared then.

The first season of the series consists of ten episodes, and the title of the first episode is already confirmed to be "Romance Dawn," directed by Marc Jobst and written by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda. Tomorrow Studios (also known for other shows like Snowpiercer and Cowboy Bebop) and Shueisha are the production companies handling the project.

As the name of the first episode suggests, season one of One Piece will follow the story of Romance Dawn arc, the first arc of the series, where Monkey D. Luffy searches for reliable companions and finally befriends Red Hat Pirates, after which they set sail for their adventurous journey to find the fabled treasure called "One Piece," and to become the greatest pirates the world has ever seen.

With the original anime series One Piece now with more than a thousand episodes and the new episodes currently airing, the content for live-action TV series would be available for several more seasons. Although the fans have high expectations from the upcoming series, their concern is related to several live-action adaptations of anime shows that have been previously ruined, most notably, the Death Note adaptation by Netflix.

Alongside Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, other members of the cast include, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Peter Gadiot as Shanks, and Morgan Davies as Koby.
