First reported by video game analyst Daniel Ahmad, Tencent announced the upcoming mobile fighting game at a conference today.

Interestingly, the mobile game is called 'Project Fighter,' but it's a working title. So, the studio might change the name to something else eventually.

Morefun Studios, Tencent's internal game development studio based in Shenzhen, is developing the mobile game. And obviously, the project is authorized by Bandai Namco.

Project Fighter's gameplay trailer flaunts some beautiful cinematics. Besides that, we can see characters like Monkey D. Luffy, Nami, and Zoro showcasing some incredible moves. The anime/manga series has several other characters with superhuman abilities. So it would definitely be interesting to play those characters in the mobile game.

If you're wondering what the mobile game actually looks like; here you go, have a good look at it:

As Ahmad mentioned in his tweet, the mobile fighting game will initially release in China. And unfortunately, we don't have any official time window for the title's global launch.

Anyway, it's safe to assume that if the game is successful in China, the studio will quickly get it out for the rest of the world.
