In One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, You Have to Wait for Saitama to Get to the Battle

Ok.

One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, a new 3D fighter from Spike Chunsoft and Bandai Namco Entertainment based on the popular anime and manga, was unveiled back in June. Since then, we’ve seen some more gameplay as new characters were being introduced. That being said, we have not seen the main gameplay gimmick of One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows up until this point. That finally changed with the Gamescom trailer as we learned that…most fights have players waiting for Saitama to arrive.

In a way that is very much on brand and in character, Saitama is usually late to the battle. Players can see how long it will take him to arrive at all times on the screen and can get Saitama there quicker by performing advanced perfect guards and combos. Once he does arrive, Saitama is pretty sturdy and can knock out enemies in just…wait for it…one punch. While many of Bandai Namco’s 3D fighters can get repetitive quite fast, this mechanic should make fights in One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows a bit more interesting.

While that Hero Arrival system is the biggest thing to come out of this trailer, it does show some new characters as well as some 3v3 gameplay. These newly revealed characters are Tatsumaki, Silver Fang, and Atomic Samurai. Even though the quality of the final game remains to be seen, it is pretty cool to see all these characters come to life in game solely focused on adapting One Punch Man.

You can check out the Gamescom trailer below. One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows is currently slated to come out for PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime in 2020 and it is already available to pre-order on Amazon.
