Tokyo RPG Factory has announced that their upcoming action RPG Oninaki will be launching in Japan on August 22. As of right now, the title is still slated to release this summer in the west, but no official date has been confirmed. This will be the third title from the studio following 2016's I Am Setsuna, and 2017's Lost Sphear. You can check out a brand new trailer for the game down below.

Oninaki was revealed during a Nintendo Direct back in February. While it has a similar visual style as previous games from Tokyo RPG Factory, it has dropped the turn-based style for a more action RPG approach.

The title will see the main character, Kagachi, jump between the world's of the living and the dead. As seen in the new trailer, players will be able to equip versatile Daemons to change up their combat style. Each Daemon comes with various benefits and disadvantages making each of them unique.

Last month, Square Enix released a trailer and screenshots from the game showing off some of the characters you'll get to meet throughout the world. In late February, Square Enix and Tokyo RPG Factory revealed that the director of Chrono Trigger, Parasite Eve, and Live A Live would be acting as the game's creative director. We also learned more about the story players can expect to unfold once the game officially launches.

Oninaki is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC. We'll be sure to keep you updated about any information in regard to the western version of the game.
