Online Retailer Amazon Acquires Double Helix Games

It has been confirmed that the largest online retailer, Amazon, has acquired video game studio Double Helix Games. The deal was for both the developers in the studio, as well as their IPs.

Amazon’s official statement on the matter:

Amazon has acquired Double Helix as part of our ongoing commitment to build innovate games for customers.

This new comes on the heels of recent rumors that Amazon will be releasing an Android-powered gaming console priced under $300 that will compete with Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.
