The OnLive "console" looks like it's finally going to be coming out! After all this time of speculation and people doubting that it will ever come to exist, it's actually happening. OnLive has begun taking pre-orders and the console will begin shipping on December 2nd, just in time for the Holidays! The Hardware package costs $99 and includes the Micro-Console, one wireless controller, one free game and all the necessary cables.

Onlive claims that the initial setup takes about 3 minutes and the console itself is 1080p and compatible with 3d TVs. It can support up to four controllers and uses USB or BlueTooth headsets. If you use Onlive for your PC or Mac, you can play those same games through the Micro-Console. As for games, pricing details are still to come but there will be an option to pay a flat fee to get unlimited access to their games library, or you can rent games for a 3 or 5 day period.

I'm not quite sure how interested in this I am, but it doesn't seem like a bad idea at all. I'd be very interested to see how well the service works. If it works well and gets good press, this could move a lot of units considering how cheap it is!
