Some great news today for all you motorhead enthusiasts as Codemasters has announced the much-anticipated Onrush ranked mode will be making it's way to a PS4 or Xbox One near you, right now.

For the next two weeks Onrush pre-season will allow players to get their oily mitts on ranked mode and this will give you the opportunity to unlock exclusive pre-season rewards which include stuff like XP bonuses, credits, and unique Tombstones, which will lead up to the Summer Slam event that will start on August 27th, and that will then run for eight weeks.

The pre-season is there to place players according to their skill level, with a scattering of ranks and sub-ranks, as listed below.

  • Bronze – Jack, Queen, King, Ace
  • Silver – Jack, Queen, King, Ace
  • Gold – Jack, Queen, King, Ace
  • Platinum – Jack, Queen, King, Ace

Kris Pope, Lead Designer at Codemasters has said:

“Ranked Mode is something the community has been asking for since day one, and we can’t wait for people to start battling it out to see who the best in the world is, In Ranked Mode, your rank will go up or down depending on how well you perform in-game. Winning as a team is, of course, the aim of the game, but individual achievements, such as the MVP award; will also help your ranking.”

Pope continues:

“Each season will feature eight challenge cards, with a new card being unlocked every week, each of these cards has three rewards that a player can earn by winning matches. Each win will earn the player 100 points towards each card. However, a player can increase the points they earn towards each card by unlocking seasonal win bonuses.”

To honor the launch of Onrush Summer Slam, Codemasters have treated their loyal fanbase with some high adrenaline footage of their new trailer, which you can find below. This comes as pleasant news, given that it sold just over 1000 physical copies in the UK but it shows that they hadn't given up the ghost just yet.

Onrush is currently available for PS4 and Xbox One and can be picked up on Amazon; check out the Summer Slam trailer below:
