Coming off their first two projects Gone Home and Tacoma, developer Fullbright has made memorable stories that give players a chance to experience emotional storytelling from a unique perspective. Following the release of Tacoma in 2017, the studio has officially revealed what it has in store with its next project Open Roads, which will be coming next year on consoles and PC.

During The Game Awards 2020, developer Fullbright revealed the studio's next upcoming project titled Open Roads. The reveal trailer highlighted two women appearing to embark on a road trip, and showcasing the studio's knack for crafting emotional stories focused on personal relationships. The trailer also revealed that the game will star The Americans' Keri Russell and Booksmart's Kaitlyn Dever as the two main protagonists.

According to publisher Annapurna Interactive, Open Roads focuses on a mother-daughter pair as they take on a road trip to discover "what has been left behind in evocative places forgotten to time." The pair, named Tess and Opal, will "explore a series of long-abandoned family properties" in their journey that will unearth "a mystery much darker than either of them imagined."

Open Roads is set to release on consoles and PC in 2021.
